President Obama vs. Republican Candidates in 2012 |

ccAdvertising has initiated a series of nationwide surveys to both landline and mobile phones regarding possible general election showdowns between President Barack Obama and a Republican candidate for President in 2012. These surveys will be conducted over the next few weeks and their purpose is to monitor the amount of support for each possible Republican candidate.

On November 16, 2010, ccAdvertising completed surveys asking respondents which candidate they would support if the race was between President Barack Obama and former Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin.
If the November 2012 election were held today and the candidates for President were Barack Obama or Sarah Palin, 40.91% of respondents indicated that they would vote for Sarah Palin, while 39.15% indicated that they would vote for President Barack Obama and 19.94% of respondents would not vote for either candidate.
When asked party identification, 44.04% of respondents are Republican, 29.58% are Democrat and 26.37% are Independent.
In addition, the survey measured voters' preferences on other important issues. 35.79% of respondents considered themselves members of the Tea Party Movement, while 57.87% believe that Congress should repeal the healthcare bill, 58.19% of respondents are pro-life, 63.98% are traditional marriage supporters and 69.37% are Second Amendment supporters.
Demographically, of all the survey respondents asked, 43.06% are male and 60.31% are 50 years of age or older. 10,940 respondents participated in this survey. The margin of error is +/-3%.
ccAdvertising also examined the results in the states that vote first in the Presidential primary calendar. In Iowa, 46.30% of respondents would vote for President Obama, while only 31.48% of respondents would vote for Governor Palin and 22.22% would not vote for either candidate.
In New Hampshire, 46.15% of respondents would vote for President Obama while, only 28.57% would vote for Governor Palin and 25.28% would not vote for either candidate.
In South Carolina, 50.95% of respondents would vote for Governor Palin while, only 34.60% would vote for President Obama and 14.45% would not vote for either candidate.
