Republican Candidate Support in Early Primary States |

ccAdvertising has initiated a series of weekly surveys, to both landline and mobile phones, to gauge current levels of support for possible Republican presidential candidates in early primary voting states. As this project continues over the next several weeks, this survey series will compare no more than three potential GOP candidates chosen randomly and in different combinations.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2011, ccAdvertising completed surveys asking respondents who they would support as a Republican presidential candidate in 2012 between Newt Gingrich, Haley Barbour, and Chris Christie. 11,909 people participated in the survey.
The following charts show the support for each candidate from Republican voters and Independent voters:
Iowa
Michigan
New Hampshire
Nevada
South Carolina
In light of the recent events in Ohio and Wisconsin, 52.55% of all respondents support Governor Scott Walker's efforts to limit Union power and compensation.
Regarding the turmoil engulfing Egypt and the Middle East, 29.55% of all respondents feel safer due to the presence of American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Demographically, of all respondents:
43.59% are Republican
28.18% are Democrat
28.23% are Independent
33.73% are Tea Party supporters
52.23% support the repeal of Obamacare
74.91% are anti-tax
58.14% are pro-life
61.73% are traditional marriage supporters
65.33% support gun owner's rights
46.48% are male
64.23% are 50 years of age or older
