ccAdvertising has initiated a series of weekly surveys, to both landline and mobile phones, to gauge current levels of support for possible Republican presidential candidates in early primary voting states.

On October 9-11, 2011, ccAdvertising conducted surveys comparing popularity among presidential candidates Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, and Rick Perry. 25,236 people participated in the survey. The following charts show the support for each candidate:

Combined

Rick Perry: 13.65% • Mitt Romney: 20.62% • Herman Cain: 15.71% • Other: 50.02%


Florida

Rick Perry: 12.93% • Mitt Romney: 20.83% • Herman Cain: 16.95% • Other: 49.28%


Iowa

Rick Perry: 13.69% • Mitt Romney: 18.24% • Herman Cain: 24.00% • Other: 54.06%


New Hampshire

Rick Perry: 10.73% • Mitt Romney: 26.58% • Herman Cain: 13.95% • Other: 48.74%


Nevada

Rick Perry: 13.27% • Mitt Romney: 20.15% • Herman Cain: 16.98% • Other: 49.61%


South Carolina

Rick Perry: 17.05% • Mitt Romney: 18.01% • Herman Cain: 16.25% • Other: 48.68%

Demographically, of all respondents who participated in surveys conducted October 9-11:

  • 34.35% are Republican
  • 31.01% are Democrat
  • 34.65% are Independent
  • 76.16% consider themselves to be white
  • 8.66% consider themselves to be black
  • 4.03% consider themselves to be hispanic
  • 11.15% consider themselves to be of another ethnicity
  • 45.08% have a favorable opinion of President Obama
  • 27.41% are supporters of the Tea Party
  • 80.45% are concerned about high gas prices
  • 71.05% support off-shore drilling
  • 30.58% are concerned about losing their job
  • 78.28% are concerned about the U.S. losing its AAA 'Best in the World' credit score.
  • 33.50% feel that they are better off now than they were four years ago.
  • 71.45% are anti-tax
  • 58.64% are pro-life
  • 60.08% are traditional marriage supporters
  • 64.06% support gun owners' rights
  • 48.15% use Facebook
  • 10.18% use Twitter
  • 47.20% are male
  • 62.92% are 50 years of age or older
