Gingrich, Paul, Romney, and Santorum - January 9, 2012

ccAdvertising has initiated a series of weekly surveys, to both landline and mobile phones, to gauge current levels of support for possible Republican presidential candidates.

Last week, ccAdvertising polled the popularity of GOP primary frontrunners Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum in the next three Primary states of New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida.

ccAdvertising asked several new questions. One asked if respondents thought that the national media wanted Barack Obama to win. Another question asked if they believed the national media was biased against Christians and those who support Christian views. A third new question asked if the respondent would take action to ask a candidate to stop attacking someone for their Christian views. The responses were very interesting. The cross tabs in the attachment to this email reveal even more information regarding how those with varied social views and from both major political parties answered these questions.

Reflecting a trend ccAdvertising has been tracking for several weeks, this survey shows a significant drop in Self-Identified Democrats and a significant increase in Self-Identified Independents in the 3 targeted states. At the same time, the percentage of Self-Identified Republican respondents has not changed significantly.

The survey ran on January 5 and 6, 2012. 14,327 people participated in the survey. The following chart shows the support for each candidate:
