ccAdvertising has initiated a series of weekly surveys, to both landline and mobile phones, to gauge current levels of support for possible Republican presidential candidates.
This week, ccAdvertising polled the popularity of the GOP primary candidates Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum in four states with approaching primaries: California, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
The survey ran on March 25-26, 2012. 11,349 people participated in the survey. The following chart shows the support for each candidate:
Nationwide

Gingrich: 14.23% • Paul: 14.43% • Romney: 21.98% Santorum: 15.43% • Undecided / Other: 33.94%
California

Gingrich: 12.69% • Paul: 14.92% • Romney: 22.84% Santorum: 8.83% • Undecided / Other: 40.71%
New York

Gingrich: 13.52% • Paul: 13.22% • Romney: 22.92% Santorum: 11.26% • Undecided / Other: 39.08%
Pennsylvania

Gingrich: 11.01% • Paul: 14.95% • Romney: 21.43% Santorum: 22.56% • Undecided / Other: 30.04%
Texas

Gingrich: 20.78% • Paul: 14.38% • Romney: 21.06% Santorum: 15.49% • Undecided / Other: 28.29%

Demographically, of all respondents who participated in surveys conducted March 25-26:
- 40.19% are Republican.
- 33.52% are Democrat.
- 26.29% are Independent.
- 27.93% are supporters of the Tea Party.
- 82.49% are concerned about the high price of gasoline.
- 53.92% feel that the national news media wants Barack Obama to win the presidency.
- 41.92% feel that they are better off now than they were four years ago.
- 80.51% are anti-tax.
- 41.43% believe that the government is trying to take away their religious freedoms.
- 57.82% are pro-life.
- 57.61% are traditional marriage supporters.
- 58.58% support gun owners' rights.
- 49.22% use Facebook.
- 13.17% use Twitter.
- 48.64% are male.
- 59.29% are 50 years of age or older.
